So I know I haven't posted much lately so I'm going to get a couple of random pictures and tell you my story since whenever I have blogged last. My friend Jessica invited me and the kids to go to San Diego with her and her family. We had a great time I think we went at the beginning of Nov. They went Thursday morning and I joined them Thursday night. On Friday we went to the zoo where Daniel took over my camera and took over my camera and took like 3-4 pix of every animal we looked at! It was crazy to see how many pictures he took that day.

Tyler, Vanessa, Daniel, and Daniel

Tyler and Vanessa

Picture of Tyler. This hasn't happened for a while but I went into the room to see if he had gone to sleep. Only to find him under our bed and his! Lately he has been falling asleep on the floor. Big D enjoys finding him in different places and positions. He found him laying face down on the floor and his arms spread and bent like those cartoon outlines of dead people on the asphalt. Big D went in and said "It was the teacher in the bedroom with the candle stick!" I got a kick out of that.

D and Ty at Disneyland the night we went to California Adventure for their trick or treat event. We had fun and Ty rode the fairs wheel for the first time and was flipping out cause we rode the ones that move as your going around. His facial expressions were priceless. Now we cannot go to Cal Adventure w/o riding it!

Here is D's soccer team. This was the day he went was in the Annual Walnut Family Festival Parade. He had a great time throwing candies and those who watched. Afterward we headed to the festival with his team. They had a great time! We all did! I was able to buy some butternut squash from the Cal Poly Farm to make some butternut squash soup!

Here is a picture of lil D and his first missing tooth! I took it a couple of weeks ago and the scary thing is that it is already out dated! He lost his other middle bottom tooth like less than a week later!. My beautiful boy is growing up so fast!!!

Here is lil D with his teacher. She is so great with him. After the kids got tested they recognized the students who had excelled. Unfortunately they sent the notice the day before he was getting the award and I had to work so I could not go. Big D went and he said that D blew all of the kids out of the water with how many recognitions he got that day. Its funny cause he just got his report card and it pretty much reflected what I expected. The only neg thing she had to say was Daniel's inability to keep quiet...like I haven't heard that before! (I've been hearing that since I have been in 1st grade!! haha So there is no question where he go that from!). We have been working on it and he has been doing much better! I'm so proud of that boy!

Soccer

I know I haven't blogged in a while an I have a lot to blog about. Daniel's first day of kindergarten, Daniel starting soccer, and I know there's more. I just wanted to share this quick story. Daniel had his third soccer game today and I was really impressed by the other team's coach. Not that Daniel's coach isn't good. The other team is really good, actually they are great. They should be playing the older kids and they would win. Their coach was very humble and I could tell by his behavior that he is trying to teach his players more than how to play soccer. As little boys play and win, they get excited. Their excitement started to cause the other players to start acting a little cocky and started to call our player not nice names. None of the parents herd it, I didn't either. (I didn't realize that this was going on until after the game)Their coach decided to take out the players who where not being very nice. Daniel was also hit in the face with the ball. Their coach insisted that the player come and apologize to Daniel before the game continued. The little boy came said sorry and ran back out on the field. Because Daniel was crying so loud he did not hear the other player. Their coach noticed this and made the player come back and say he was sorry again so Daniel could hear it. I also thought it was very nice the the mother of the play came to check on Daniel to make sure he was ok. At the end of the game after a horrible slaughter the coach made sure he came over and told each of our players what a good job they had done.
Today we live in a society where this is not seen very often, which is sad. The last two games we have played teams where the players have pushed, tripped, and belittled our players and not once did I hear their coaches or parents say a single word to them. I know that at this age, the children just want to win, and as a parent we want our children to be happy and experience the joys that come with winning a game, but this coach is teaching his team players something that they will be able to apply in the rest of their lives. Kudos to that coach. Because of the events that took place today, I was not sad at all that our team lost today. I learned a lesson that I might have already know, but it was a good reminder to being a better person and a better mother!

4th of July

This 4th was pretty much as any other except we did it times two. X and Sarah came over the day before. They bought Baby D some fireworks and spent time with the kids and lighting them up. We all took turns lighting up the sparkers that for some reason take all year long to use…Anyways Daniel found a fireworks setting on our camera and we were able to get these cool looking pictures with the sparklers.

Daniel

Daniel was given the chance to do some actual lighting of the fireworks and he did a good job of listening. Although he was having fun with the fireworks, he decided to have more fun setting my dad's paper on fire. He used one of the sparklers to set the fire! None of us were mad cause at least he did it safely. It reminds me of me when I set my mom's shoe on fire one year and when i set the trash can on fire another year. :)

Daniel and the neighbor kids lighting one of Daniel's favorite fireworks, the snakes!

Even though I had to work, we all really had a great time. I got home around 800pm and the sun was almost done setting. Daniel had a lot of fun with his friends. We actually got to see a lot of shows from our home and some of the fireworks were right above our home! Then when were close to wrapping it up, our neighbor brought our ice cream and root beer! This was funny cause when she asked Baby D if he wanted a root beer float he responded "Root Beer?!?! I can't have root beer! Beer is bad!" Our neighbor had to explain to him that root beer was just soda. He still declined politely and said "No thank you, I can't have that either" It definitely put a smile on my face. It is nice to know that even though you think your kids aren't learning from you, that they do pick up on some things and that's what keeps me trying. I love my family and my children and I am soooo blessed to have them!

Beach Fun

The beach has been sounding like a good idea for quite some time now. I went to Newport area on my sister in law's birthday to get some cupcakes from sprinkles...mmmm! Since that day I have been wanting to go back. The weather has been off and on for beach weather and those who know me I don't like to be cold. It seemed that the days it was nice enough I was working. Finally a day came where the weather would be good and I was off. My brother and his girlfriend were able to go with us and I invited my niece Roxie. Her and Daniel have always gotten along really well but haven't seen each other much this summer. We had a great day of cool (not cold) weather. It was windy but when the sun came out it was great.

Picture of the water. It really surprised me how clear the water looked this day. Growing up we visited Puerto Rico often and nothing compares to the waters there, but it was nice to see our waters looking cleaner. Needless to say I still couldn't get in cause the water was still freezing!

X and Ty.

Daniel sunbathing. I'm glad that he didn't stay like this for long. He and Roxie were playing in the sand most of the time and built sandcastles so his back was to the sun most of the time. Unfortunately he did get some pretty nasty burns on his back despite the sunblock I put on him.

Roxie

The spot we chose had no bathrooms near by so this is daniel doing his business. He decided to find his own bathroom!

LONG MORNING

What a morning. It's not even 11am and I already wished it was time to put the kids to bed for the night. The kids spend the night at my parents last night because I had to take my uncle to the air port. SSSSSOOOOOOOOO.....This morning I woke up at 4am to wake up Daniel so that he could get up in time to leave the house for clinical (I still don't understand how he doesn’t here the alarm). My alarm then went off at 530. I got up and dressed pretty quickly and I dressed in my gym clothes because I was planning on going to the gym when I got back with my brother. So I left the house like at 540 to my uncles apartment. He just moved and I knew where but I did not know which apartment. My mom did not remember the actual number but told me exactly where it was at. When I got there I went to the gait and his name is not on the dial pad to open the door. Great! So I tried calling a couple of people and no one opened the door for me. I went to my car to call him and realized I left my phone at home. So what do I do now? I drove to the nearest gas station where I was able to call Daniel to call my uncle. I went back to the apartments and my uncle came out. Great! Drove him the airport on my way back I got a little lost but no biggy.
When I got home I went home first to get my phone first. Where I see a text from my brother saying he didn’t feel well and would let me know if he felt better later on so that we could go to the gym. Ok I can go by myself...I just won’t be as motivated.
I walk in the door and baby d was sick. He looked sick. i would say yellow is a good word to describe him. So i would have not been able to go to the gym anyways. Baby D then threw up all over the living room floor. We trained him to throw up only on floor, no carpet as he gets to the bathroom. After I search threw my mountain of meds, I wasn't able to find anything that would help. I ask my dad to watch the kids for a little more so that I can get baby d some meds and get some stuff for dinner. Little did I know that all antiemetic require a prescription. I bought him some Gatorade and some fruit cocktail. Someone once told me that the juice helps with the nausea.
When I came home my dad was on the phone with my mom trying to figure out how to open the locked bathroom door. Apparently baby d locked himself in there and wouldn't open it. I asked him to open the door. When he found out it was me he said he was sorry and opened the door. He had diarrhea too and didn’t make it to the toilet in time so he was trying to clean up his mess. He is such a sweet child. I bath him, cleaned up his mess and put him down to sleep. I hope he feels better. By the way, the syrup might have helped his nausea, but he is still vomiting. With all this commotion going on, Tyler was able to get the all purpose cleaner and sprayed the floor and walls in the living room, threw moon sand all over the carpet, and served himself some cereal in a bowl with milk and of corse he made a mess doing that. I hope the day gets better.

Pictures of Daniel at his preschool graduation! We are so proud of him. He is sad to leave his friends but we are all so excited to have a summer filled of fun activities. We are planning to go to San Diego (zoo, lego land and sea world) Las Vegas (unsure of plans yet), and probably Palm Springs. We are also planning on going camping with our family to San Diego, and I really want to go to Tahoe this summer as well.

After his graduation I took him to Disneyland. At first it was just going to be Him and I but since Daniel needed to study for finals and work on a project my brother came as well and we took Tyler. We had such a blast and the kids slept for like 3 hours, needless to say they had a very hard time falling asleep that night!

Surviving Without the Kids…

I am first to say that when my parents told me they wanted to go to Palm Spring and take the kids with them, I started to count down the days. I started making plans for Daniel and me. The best part was that he was going to be off the week my parents would take the kids, therefore, no school! Well they all left on Sunday after church. We hurried home and made lunches and sent them off. They were so cute waving good bye. On Sunday after the kids left we did some deep cleaning. I know we are crazy but it was so nice to clean without having a two year old right behind use making more of a mess. When we were done we decided to watch Twilight! We both fell asleep and took a much needed nap (especially Daniel who just finished finals). WE got up and went to his mom’s house, a Sunday ritual. We met up with Daniel’s brothers there and had a lot of very interesting conversions. We had a great time!
Today was our actual day date. We got up and went to breakfast with Daniel’s mom because it was her birthday and then we took her home. We then drove to Disneyland when I realized my phone was dying and Daniel’s was dead already. I couldn’t spend the whole day at Disneyland without my phone. I started to panic…what if something happened to the kids and here we are having fun and with no way to be reached. We used my new GPS system that Daniel got me for my birthday to find the nearest verizon store and bought a charger, which made me feel a lot better. When we got to Disneyland the line to pay for parking was crazy, I had NEVER seen it that bad. We finally parked and got on the tram to the park. To our surprise the line to check our bag was worse! We waited about 40mins. Once we got through we got through I was so happy that we had passes and did not have to wait what I think would have been another hour to buy tickets. We went to California Adventure to ride all the rides we usually don’t because we always come with the kids which included: California Soaring, the roller coaster, and the Tower of Terror (??). We also just walked around, watched performers sing and enjoyed the scenery. We went to the Blue Bayou. It was ok. I like variety and for the prices there was not much variety. I did like what I ordered though. I am very glad we went there cause we didn’t have the kids and I don’t think we would ever choose to take Tyler there.
After the lunch we went back to California Adventure to ride another ride really quick and then off to a movie we went. We went to go see Knowing and it was good, in my opinion. I won’t give anything away. Then we came home to finish up some laundry and make banana muffins! I promised Daniel that I would get up and make him breakfast before I got to work! Poor Daniel he was such a good sport through all this day. He broke out with shingles the last day of his finals and was in pain but we both had fun!

We did have a great time but I nearly cried when we were walking back to our car and we called my mom to find out how the kids were doing. Daniel picked up and told me how much fun they were having but said at the end "but mommy I want you" He is so adorrable. I miss them so much. They will arrive sometime tomorrow. Too bad I work and wont be home till 10! :(

Being Prideful

Ok So I have never been a prideful person, but I think that the pride and joy one has for their children is different! Well I had parent teacher confrence with Baby D's teacher last week and let me tell you, I am so PROUD of Daniel. The teacher said that he is basically in the top four in his class. I know he is only in pre school but I was still happy to hear that. He along with 3 other students will now be taken out of class everyday to start learning how to read! I said what! She said that they didnt like to hold kids back. She said if they are ready then might as well push them forward. Daniel has always been very observant and picked up consepts really fast, but I never thought that he would be ready to read. I love my kids and I am so happy that Heavenly Father has blessed me with these two beautiful children. I would not trade them for anything!

The Mom Test

THIS WAS SO FUNNY I HAD TO POST IT...

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that.
'Why?' my daughter asked.

'Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs,' I replied.

At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and as kid, 'Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart.' I was thinking quickly.
'All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test.
You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom.' We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information.

'OH...I get it!' she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad.' ''Exactly,' I replied back with a big smile on my face.

When you're finished laughing, send this to a Mom

Wwwhhhere's Tyler? There He Is!

So even though I am very tired and I just got home from work, I feel the need to share the experience that I had this morning. I know Tyler loves to play peekaboo, and he likes to hide around the corner and have me find him, but this tops it all. I finally decided to get out of bed at 540 this morning so that I would not be too late for work and for some reason Daniel was kind of awake. So as I got out of bed I used my phone to see where I am going. Usually I just get out of the room ASAP as to not wake the kids. Well I forgot to get everything I needed out of the room last night so I used my phone light to get my clothes. As I did I glaced over at Tyler's bed and he wasn't there. Big deal, I thought, he must be under some of the thousands of blankets I have on my bed. He climbs into our bed a lot with me even noticing it. So I asked Daniel if Tyler was in our bed and he said no. So I looked around the floor and on Baby D's bunk and nothing. The door was closed and he has not been able to open it lately and besided the door was still closed (he would have left it open). I told Daniel that I couldnt find TyTy and I tured on the lights. There is no way that Tyler is just not here! I looked under the bed, I moved the blankets, and moved some clothes and nothing. So I went and checke the kitchen , bathroom, and living room and nothing. So Daniel called me back into the room and he was looking under the bed and Tyler was there HALF way under our QUEEN size bed! How did this happen? I dont know! I love this kid!

SpongeBobSquarePants

Both my kids LOVE Spong Bob! That is an under statement! This is a video of Tyler singing and dancing to the theme song and Daniel in the background singing and telling Tyler to dance and "get down" I love these kids.

Random Fun...

So those of you who know Tyler, know how much he loves his baths. Its actually funny cause he is so scared to be in pools even if they are toddler pools, but he NEEDS to have his bath every day! Well this was taken a couple of nights ago. Daniel was done and got out but Tyler wanted to stay longer which usally happens all the time. This time I asked Daniel to pull the plug because he was splashing so much and was really having a hard time keeping the water inside the tub. Well this is how he reacted when he realized that the water was running low.

Go down to the one called hoodrats. New pictures of the kids. While my sister and brother in law from Penn were down, grandma wanted all her grandkids to be photographed. Unfortunately my kids did not do so well. My defense: they were sick, cold, and i wasnt able to be there! But luckily she got at least one of each that look good.
